Jodi Dean is Professor of Political Science at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Geneva, NY. Her research and writing focus on the contemporary space of politics. She is co-editor of the journal Theory and Event, and sits on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Žižek Studies and Quarterly Journal of Speech. Dean has authored and edited several books; recent publications include: Blog Theory: Feedback and Capture in the Circuits of Drive (2010); Democracy and Other Neoliberal Fantasies (2009); Žižek’s Politics (2006); and Publicity’s Secret (2002). She is the editor of Reformatting Politics: Information Technology and Global Civil Society (with Jon Anderson and Geert Lovink) (2006); and Empire’s New Clothes: Reading Hardt and Negri (with Paul A. Passavant) (2004). Dean lives and works in Geneva, NY.
