      1. Manthia Diawara (born 1953) is a cultural, literary, and film theorist as well as a filmmaker whose main area of research is African studies. He is the author of several books including African Film: New Forms of Aesthetics and Politics (2010) and We Won’t Budge: An African Exile in the World (2003).
