Wannamaker Professor and director of the Center for Global Studies and the Humanities at Duke University, Durham, NC; an honorary research associate for CISA (Center for Indian Studies in South Africa), Wits University, Johannesburg; and senior adviser of the Dialogue of Civilization Research Program Council (Austria). Publications include: The Darker Side of the Renaissance (1995, 2015); Delinking: The Rhetoric of Modernity, the Logic of Coloniality and the Grammar of Decoloniality (2007); The Idea of Latin America (2006); and Local Histories/Global Designs (2000).
