Ranciére’s response to the loud theoretical diagnosis of the ‘end of politics’ that dominated much of the discourse about the emptied out potential of liberal democracy in the 1990s. Through an historical analysis he claims that politics is always about ending politics and instead he argues that we must focus on the articulation and organization of dissent in order to reinvigorate any potential for radical change today.
