      1. Catalog of the exhibition Parisien(ne)s, curated by Hou Hanru, Camden Arts Centre, London (07.02.–23.03.1997). Engaged critically with notions of (national) identity, belonging, immigration, post-colonialism, modernity, and dislocation by exhibiting nine artists of different generations who lived and worked in Paris (a ‘postmodern’ city full of heterogeneity and flux in Hanru’s conception) but were not originally from France. A good example of how many exhibitions in the 1990s tried to problematize strict definitions of nationality as well as the (supposed) link between shared nationality and shared forms of artistic production. Exhibited artists: Absalon, Chen Zhen, Chohreh Feyzdjou, Thomas Hirschhorn, Huang Yong Ping, Tiina Ketara, Sarkis, Sheen Yuan, and Tsuneko Taniuchi.
