      1. Two-volume catalog of the exhibition Partages d’exotismes [Sharing Exoticisms], 5th Biennale d’art contemporain de Lyon, Lyon, curated by Jean-Hubert Martin (27.06.–24.09.2000), with texts, images, information on exhibited artists, and a map of the installation. This exhibition was interpreted as a kind of follow-up to Martin’s much-talked-about 1989 exhibition Magiciens de la Terre. Here he claims that exoticism isn’t inherent in any work of art but is rather in the eye of the beholder, and decried the fact that non-western artists feel pressured to included ‘exoticized’ elements in their work as the only way of gaining any western recognition. The exhibition was meant to challenge those expectations. Exhibited artists included: Ghada Amer, Christine Borland, Wim Delvoye, Gilbert & George, Thomas Hirschhorn, Sol LeWitt, Anish, Kapoor, Shirin Neshat, Manuel Ocampo, Orlan, Haim Steinbach, Tunga, Thomas Struth, etc.
