An exhibition that sought to bring together key developments of the art of the 1990s outside the traditional white walls of the museum. Schafhausen’s text Softmoderne attempts to theorize about the art of the 1990s and its relationship to the past (especially the 1980s), the art market, history, and image-making. In hindsight the artist list looks like a who’s who of major players of the decade.
