Jill Winder (born 1975) is a writer, editor, and was curator of publications at BAK, basis voor actuele kunst, Utrecht between 2007 to 2011. She studied political theory and holds a master’s degree from the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, New York. From 2004 to 2006 Winder was a writing fellow of the Institute of Current World Affairs in Berlin; prior to that she spent a year in Eastern and Central Europe undertaking independent research on post-communist art and culture as a Thomas J. Watson Fellow. She has edited numerous publications including: BAK’s Critical Reader Series (with Maria Hlavajova) (2006/2008/2009/2011); Mona Vătămanu and Florin Tudor (with Cosmin Costinaş) (2009); and Roman Ondák (2007), and her writings have appeared in exhibition catalogs and publications such as ARTMargins and The Exhibitionist. Winder lives and works in Berlin.
